4 Things You Need For Your Spare Room To Be Perfect For Guests
Having a spare room is great as you can use it as somewhere guests stay overnight. However, you need to make sure it looks great and has everything they require, so they have a good night’s sleep in your home. Here are some cool spare room ideas and things you need for your spare room to be perfect for guests.
1. A Good Sized Bed
One thing you need for your spare room to be perfect for guests is a good sized bed. You want them to have a good night’s sleep while they are in your home. Go for a full double bed if you have space, so you can have two people stay at once. You need to make sure the bed is comfortable as it can be hard for guests to sleep in strange surroundings.
So you need them to get a supportive mattress, and a good quality duvet to ensure they have a good night’s sleep. If you don’t have room for a good sized bed, you might want to get a sofa bed for the room. That way, it can just be a sofa in the day and then transform into a bed for the night.
2. A Comfy Chair or Bean Bag
You should also add a comfy chair or bean bag to the room to make it perfect for guests. They might want to sit and read before they go to sleep that night. Also, it can be useful for them to sit on while they are getting ready for the day ahead. A bean bag is a great alternative which won’t take up too much space in the room. You can find ones online from ComfySacks.com/foam.html. It will provide comfort for people to lounge on when they are in their guest room.
3. Gorgeous Flowers or Plants
Add some gorgeous flowers or plants to your spare room. You should add the plants to the windowsill to make the room feel more natural. As we talked about before, make sure you give the plant attention by watering it regularly. You don’t want a dying plant in the spare room when guests come over.
4. A Wardrobe or Drawers
An additional thing you need for your spare room to be perfect for guests is a wardrobe or drawers. It gives them space to hang up their clothes, so they don’t end up with creases. You don’t want them asking you if they can hang their clothes in your room. If you don’t have space for a wardrobe, you should consider adding an over-the-door hook so guests can hang their clothes on there.
You should also add a nightlight in your guest room. Just because you like rooming in pitch black doesn’t mean your guests will. As this article says, plug one in which they can remove if they don’t want to use it. And remember to put some fresh smelling towels on the bed. That way, they don’t have to come and wake you up in the morning as they need one to use. Leave them a hand towel, a bath sheet, and a face cloth on the bed to be used in the bathroom.

I completely agree, a large bed is a must! I like the idea of a bean bag chair or just a comfy chair in the guest room too. I am looking to redesigning the guest room into a guest room/office.
I usually put fresh towels on the bathroom counter. I love preparing a guest room and I do it a lot as our pet sitter is here a lot overnight.
First, I need the spare room! But great options for when……
LOL , great idea to have a spare room before starting with decorating it, Jennifer 🙂 Thanks a lot for coming over !
