Casual Winter Outfits
‘How to Nail one of this Season’s Hottest Looks’
If you’ve had even a chance to sit down yet between all the gift buying and wrapping during the festive season you might have considered all the different events that season brings with it. Obviously, there are the usual glitzy evening parties, which you approach with your party dress at the ready.
But there are also events such as festive markets and family gatherings where things are a little more casual. Getting your style right during this season can be a little difficult. After all, Christmas is all about adding a special touch to things. But you also don’t want to be overdressed simply for going ice-skating. With that in mind, here are some tips on how you can nail winter casual whilst still feeling every inch the glamour queen.
Fashion
Winter is all about cozying up in comfy and practical clothing. However, that doesn’t mean you need to throw on shapeless cheap bomber jackets and be done with it. The easiest way to create cool winter outfits is to layer, layer and layer again.
Layering your clothes also mean that you will be able to keep warmer. Vacuums of space are created between your items of clothing, which utilize the heat from your body to keep you warm. That being said, you need to be smart with your layering so you don’t just look like you are wearing loads of different clothes at once.
Cool Makeup Ideas
As soon as winter kicks in it can be tempting to unleash your vampy side. The berry lips and dark eyes which looked far too harsh in the summer suddenly work a whole lot better when it gets dark by 4 pm. However, there is a time and a place for dramatic winter makeup, and the daytime hours are not always it. The key to nailing casual winter makeup is to look fresh and healthy.
My winter makeup ideas would be to prime your skin before applying a medium coverage foundation that still lets your natural tone shine through. As far as the eyes go, you can still wear eyeshadow and liner – just tone it down a little bit. Eyeshadows options such as the Lorac makeup palette are perfect for this type of look as you can never go wrong with a great range of nudes. Finally, opt for a pink or brown-based lip color to finish off the whole look.
Hair
Winter hair is essentially open to interpretation – anything goes! But winter can severely dry out your hair just as much as the summer can. Plus, many of us are wearing hats in the colder weather, so we can often become victims of the dreaded static.
The key to avoiding this and to have healthy, glossy looking winter hair is to keep your locks as hydrated as possible. Make sure you use shampoo and conditioner specifically designed for dry hair and try and use a hair mask at least once a week for some extra TLC. Achieving a casual cute winter look is all about being effortlessly stylish, so why not try out some of these looks in the run up to Christmas?
Thanks a lot for your time and support during my first year of blogging. Without you all, I probably wouldn’t be writing but knitting right now. Thank you so much for keeping me going.
