Home Health Jobs to Take Care of
Does Your Home Need a Health Checkup?
We all know the importance of keeping our bodies healthy. Eating well, exercising and getting enough sleep are all high on our agenda when we want to take care of our health. But did you know that your home could be unhealthy, which in turn affects you? We see our homes as safe places and protection against the world, but without the right care, it could well be this which is making you sick. Here are some of the issues to address to improve your home’s health, as well as yours!
Dust Mites Removal
Pollen, soot, fibres, pet hair, dead insects and human skin are just a few of the nasties that make up dust in the home. While this looks unpleasant and can make a room feel dirty and stuffy, it can also be detrimental to health too. Dust mites are microscopic critters which feed on the dust, and its powerful waste can trigger allergies and respiratory issues. Unfortunately, there’s no permanent way of dust mites removal to get rid of it. You have to be vigilant about cleaning, not forgetting awkward spots such as behind furniture, on top of doors and skirting boards. Dust mites love pillows, duvets and soft furnishings too, so washing them often (or replacing regularly anything that can’t be machine washed) helps to keep down numbers. If you lead a busy life and don’t have time for daily dust cleaning sessions, you could consider hiring a cleaning company such as Domestic One. That way your home is always clean and visitor ready, and dust mites won’t cause a problem to your health.
Harmful Chemical Products
You might feel as though chemicals are essential in keeping down bacteria, avoiding bugs and making your home smell nice. However, there are plenty of natural products that you can either buy or make yourself that are much kinder to your health. It means you’re not breathing in harmful toxins whenever you clean your home and everywhere stays spic and span so it’s a win-win. If you are going to be using harmful chemical products in the home, consider wearing gloves and opening the windows to keep the area well ventilated. And it goes without saying that you shouldn’t spray them around children and pets. Even products like scented candles can emit harmful toxins, opt for essential oils or soy wax candles instead which burn cleanly and without risk to your health.
What’s in Tap Water?
We’re all encouraged to up our water intake. And it’s true, guzzling down plenty of h20 benefits just about every cell in your body. But did you really know what’s in tap water? Plastics, metals, parasites, viruses and bacteria have all been found in tap water. Thankfully it’s an easy fix, either have a filtration system plumbed into your sink or filter your water using a filter jug. This removes up to ninety-nine percent of these unpleasant extras giving you peace of mind.
How do you keep your home clean and healthy? Were you aware of these three issues? Do you have any more tips and like to share them with us? Please feel free to leave a comment!

The tap water in my area sucks. The water company has sent out a notice saying something in it will cause cancer over time. Years. There is a high cancer rate in my area.
Oh wow, that is awful! And aren’t they doing something about that problem? Or are they just waiting for people to become seriously ill? We had the same problem here on the Canary Islands, we still aren’t supposed to drink the tap water, but the water quality has improved a lot over the last few years, although I am still not cooking with tap water. Thanks a lot for visiting and leaving a comment. Take care of yourself!
