how to travel and blog successfully
5 Tips to Live the Travel Blogger Lifestyle
One of the many advantages that come with running a travel blog is the fact that you can run your blog while travelling literally wherever you want to go. After all, all that you really need is a laptop and an internet connection, and you’re all set. With that in mind, here are the top five tips for living the travel blogger lifestyle:
Tip #1 – Portable Wi-Fi hotspots are your friend
You shouldn’t rely on public Wi-Fi hotspots such as the ones at airports, hotels, and coffee shops. Not only is a public Wi-Fi hotspot often unreliable, they are also often unsecured.
A faster, safer, and more convenient option will be to bring along your own portable Wi-Fi router with you instead. This way, the internet will always be at your fingertips (literally).
Tip #2 – Write posts ahead of time
There’s nothing wrong with writing your posts several weeks ahead of time. In fact, this is actually a strategy that most bloggers follow for the sake of convenience. If you plan on posting one new article a week, for example, by pumping out four articles at once you’ll have a month’s worth of articles all ready to go.
Tip #3 – Consistency is key
Consistency is everything when it comes to working as a blogger. In fact, this is arguably the single most important virtue that a blogger can have. You need to be consistent about when you work, consistent about when you publish new content (your readers should know when to expect a new post), and consistent about always delivering on quality (more on this in a bit).
Tip #4 – There’s nothing wrong with outsourcing
If work becomes really stressful to you due to travelling and other commitments, you can always outsource your work as well. You can hire freelance writers to write and/or edit posts, to run your marketing campaigns, and so on. If money is an issue, it’s usually cheaper to hire freelancers who work outside of the United States or Canada.
All you will need is a foreign money transfer service like Remitly in order to have the ability to pay them, and at that point, you can begin to delegate tasks to him.
Tip #5 – Focus on quality over quantity
Finally, remember that quality is always more important than quantity. Not only will your readers appreciate it more, but Google’s algorithms will actually reward content that is original, easy to read, and free of spelling and grammar errors by ranking it higher on search engine results pages. In other words, creating quality content will be one of the most important things you can do for your blog.
Living the Travel Blogger Lifestyle
Living the life of a blogger while traveling the world is not going to be free of challenges by any means, but it will undoubtedly be a very rewarding and fun experience.
May your journeys always be amazing and safe,
