Why Visiting London Needs to Be on Your Bucket List
London is one of the best now cities in the world and is a place of diversity, culture, and heritage. The city is filled with famous streets, iconic landmarks, London Bridge, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, London is steeped in historical importance. If you are from the UK or are travelling from abroad, London is a city that you must see at least once in your lifetime. If you have never been to London before, here is why visiting London needs to be on your bucket list:
• Iconic Sights
When you think of London, there are some iconic landmarks and buildings that come to mind. The Houses of Parliament at the Palace of London Westminster is a stunning sight, and you can even take a tour inside and watch debates take place.
Another sight to see is the incredible London Eye, a revolving observation wheel where you can enjoy a 30-minute ride, along with a glass of bubbly, and get a great view of London.
Don’t forget to get a picture in front of Big Ben, and for a historic flavour, visit the Tower of London where you can become immersed in history.
• Nightlife
One of the best reasons to visit London is for its lively nightlife, and you will find 24-hour clubs and bars. From edgy burlesque nights and cocktail bars to sophisticated glam and hardcore clubs, London has a nightspot for any taste.
Head to Soho for lively pubs and bars, or head for Chelsea to sip luxury drinks in opulent surroundings. Kensington Roof Gardens is also a great spot to take in the atmosphere of the city. For a more edgy scene, head to Camden or Shoreditch. Not to forget the Covent Garden hall, built in 1830 and the market there has been held for centuries.
• Cultural Attractions
When you visit London, seeing a show is a must, so get to buy some cheap London musical tickets and head for the West End. You can also see a comedy gig, as well as exciting plays and performances by both famous writers and breakthrough artists.
Other great places to visit are some of the many museums, such as the Victoria and Albert, as well as art galleries like the Tate Modern and the Saatchi gallery.
• A Place to Shop
If you like shopping, London has to be one of the top destinations to visit. Designer labels are to be found in Mayfair and Bond Street, or why not spend an afternoon browsing in Harrods, one of the largest and most well-known stores in the city?
Take a well-earned rest from your spree with a spot of lunch at the Ritz, or explore some of the unique cafes off of the main streets. London is a city that has a character and ambience of its own. If you have time on your trip, make an effort to explore some of the different neighbourhoods, and soak up the unique mix that makes up this great city. With so many great experiences and adventures awaiting you, London is not just a destination for your bucket list. It is a city you will want to visit again and again.
