The Effects of Caffeine on the Body
Stressed Blessed Coffee Obsessed
10 Reasons Why We Love Coffee So Much
– by Peter Minkoff –
• It’s 6 AM. You’ve just left your bed and now you need something to complete the process of waking up. What could it be? Is it chocolate? A glass of water? A cold shower? Maybe. – However, the most common answer to this question is a cup of coffee.
• It’s 6 PM and you’ve finished with all the work for the day. Now it’s time to sit and relax, but you need a drink too. What do you take? A bottle of wine? A beer? Tea? Maybe. – But again, the majority of people prepare themselves a cup of coffee.
It’s less important whether we are talking about espresso, ice coffee, or a homemade version of this drink – its flavour is what regularly seduces us. There is something magical about it and we can’t deny the influence that it has on us, can we?
Check this list to affirm your coffee obsession:
1. It’s affordable
Let’s be honest – the less we spend, the better, especially now when it looks like a financial crisis can hit anytime. Luckily, the one thing we don’t need to worry about is whether we’ll have enough money to regularly afford our favourite hot beverage. The coffee is pretty affordable and it is one of the cheapest drinks you can order in a restaurant or a coffee shop.
2. It made us choose a favourite cup
Isn’t it funny how we easily became so emotionally attached to a single cup? However, without hot coffee in it, your favourite cup would be empty and useless. Sorry if this revelation disappoints you, but you didn’t buy that cup on your night table just because it had a funny message on it, or because of a colour. It was the caffeine spell that made you buy it – and you’ll never break free again!
3. It’s so strong that we can’t be late to work
There is no better alarm than strong coffee in the early morning. While we can ignore the alarms on our phones many times, we can’t resist the strong flavour of our favourite hot drink. It makes us jump out of the bed and kick off the day in a good mood. The Australian coffee culture is considered to be so special that even the biggest coffee addicts want to try the strongest coffee in Australia before they decide what is the best coffee they have ever tried.
4. It can come in so many flavours
Sometimes we all need a break from the regular coffee flavour we are used to. Luckily, coffees for you and your friends can be prepared in many different ways. How about searching for your next favourite coffee maker that will enhance your coffee tasting experience?
5. It reminds us to talk to each other
These days we spend too much time staring at our phones. However, coffee time is still the favourite time of the day for the majority of us. In a way, coffee reminds us to talk to each other, thus it makes us more human too.
6. It benefits our health
This one may come as a surprise, but people who regularly drink coffee actually improve their health. Some effects of caffeine on the body are actually scientifically proven very beneficial. Coffee drinkers are less likely to develop Type 2 diabetes than those who don’t drink coffee. Also, coffee reduces the risk of Parkinson’s disease and lowers the possibility of a stroke.
7. It makes us happier
This is equally important for your health. Habitual coffee drinkers are happier in comparison to people who don’t drink coffee. Caffeine’s antidepressant effects increase your level of happiness.
Let’s not forget about the fact that we feel such a level of peace with ourselves when we prepare the morning coffee that it’s hard to let anyone else do it for us. The process of preparation triggers the positive feelings we all need when the day starts.
8. It extends the time we spend calm
When we are alone, drinking coffee keeps us quiet. In those moments, we are deeply attached to our feelings and thoughts. Having in mind how easy it is to get distracted, we can only be grateful for the time we spend alone, drinking coffee.
9. It’s instagramable
An Instagram account without at least a dozen of pictures featuring a cup of coffee isn’t really possible, is it? Coffee can replace your absent friend when you want to take a perfect picture on a sunny day. It’s funny how coffee became so instagramable that people actually make an effort not to be basic with photos of their coffee.
10. It reminds us to relax
Dear coffee,
Thank you for being so kind to us. Without you, we would forget about the importance of relaxation. You help us not to forget about our own needs. You comfort us on the worst days when nothing goes well. Thank you for being a true friend.
Sincerely,
Coffee drinkers.
Now that we even left a special note, it’s time to prepare another coffee. Joking aside, we must never forget about the simple things that make our lives beautiful. Coffee can fill many gaps that nobody else sees.
