Top Online Dating Sites
Reviews.com Revealed
Women are often hesitant to make the leap into free online dating websites, but it truly is the wave of the future of dating. Unlike a bar or the grocery store, an online site gives women access to thousands of potential mates. However, because it has become such a popular way to meet people, online dating sites are springing up all over the internet on a daily basis. Some are good, and others are…not so good.
We tend to hear some scary things about free online dating websites at times, but some great long-lasting love stories have started that way too. It should be easy to find out more about the reputation and reliability of online dating sites.
Reviews.com went to work to find the best of the best. Those of you who are looking to try online dating may be interested in trying their top picks.
” OK Cupid “
OK Cupid may be one of the top online dating sites for several reasons. First of all, you can put as much or as little effort into creating a profile as you’d like, but OK Cupid makes it easy for you. Not only do they give you the option of putting in your own information, but they also ask you open-ended and multiple choice questions that can bring your profile to life. The site then uses your answers to match compatibility with potential partners, making it one of the most accurate sites for compatibility matching. Another thing that makes OK Cupid a top pick for top online dating sites is the fact that it is free. You can set up your profile, send and receive messages for free. They do offer a premium membership for around $10 a month, though, which will allow you to “boost” your profile to get more views.
” Match “
Match is probably one of the most well-known top online dating sites, and it is quite possibly the best to use if you’re looking for a long-term relationship. Like OK Cupid, Match will walk you through the steps of creating your online profile. It strikes a balance between asking you questions to help guide you and letting you use your own words and creativity to make your profile more interesting. While OK Cupid is set up for a stronger compatibility rating, Match is geared more toward women who want to search through profiles to find potential dates. While it is free to set up a profile on Match, you must be a subscriber to do basic things such as read or respond to messages. Subscription rates are right around $30 a month, but you may be able to find a deal if you’re patient and check the website for special pricing promotions.
” eHarmony “
eHarmony has a reputation for being a site geared for those with old-fashioned dating values and those seeking a potential marriage partner. The site takes the user through an extensive question and answers session in order to truly get a feel for the person to increase the chances of creating a good match. Unlike other sites, eHarmony sends matches when they occur. That may mean going days or even weeks without a new match. Users also don’t have the option to search for matches on their own, making it difficult if you don’t like any of the matches they have sent you. eHarmony is the most expensive of the four top dating sites, charging approximately $40 a month with three months paid upfront.
” Plenty of Fish “
If you are a woman who enjoys receiving a lot of messages and is open to talking with men with a variety of relationship goals (short or long term), Plenty of Fish may be a good site for you. POF claims to have millions of users, widening the pool of potential mates. It is also a free site, which means it is accessible and affordable to everyone. Online dating has become one of the best and easiest ways to meet people, and finding the right site is key. Whether you are looking for a short or long-term situation, there’s a site perfect for you out there!
Reviews.com has listed a crazy amount (I believe it’s over 70 or so) dating sites in this amazing review they have published.

I may have tried a few of those in my time. I’m just glad I have no need for them now. 😉
OK, as a guy and a veteran of dating sites let me offer my two cents. THE FREE aspect to these sites is free in name only. You may find your true love, but that’s going to be after weeding through girls that are obviously fake. I know I’m hot and all but I really doubt a 21-year drop dead gorgeous chick in Los Angeles really wants to meet a late 30s (now 40) divorced dad of one child. POF was the absolute worse on this with OK Cupid a close second. If you have a few extra bucks at least pay for a membership it eliminates the B.S.
As for women, unless you want your inbox filled with dudes and dick pics my advice would be to pay up also. If it’s free for you, it’s free for spammers and creeps also, just remember that.
Also, EHarmony is only available to those that are either listed as single/divorced. If you make the mistake of choosing separated you aren’t allowed to fill out your membership. At least that is the way it was when I was in the online game
Ok rant over, I did meet Miss Madison online so I can say there are success stories in online dating, but buyer beware if you go the free route!
Oh my goodness, i can’t believe the dating site scene hasn’t seemed to change in well over a decade. But that speaks to how successful those four are. Most everyone I know keeps to POF.
